The Value of Time

Summer is often a season where we try to change the normal rhythms of life. We look to get away from work, go on vacation and spend more time with family. When those trips and time off end, we frequently wonder where the time went.

Time is one of our most priceless assets. We can earn more money, but we can’t buy more time. We don’t get to store it, own it or save it – we only get to spend it. Every second of every day is a gift and we know it will run out one day.

The average person in the US now lives 79.2 years. A recent study found that when we factor in all the time we spend sleeping, eating, working, commuting, and all our other activities we have 10 short years of free time to do something meaningful.

What is the most common thing you do with your free time? Is that how you honestly imagined using your precious and limited amount of free time? What would Jesus say about that?

More organizations are measuring your time spent with them. Subscribing to something is one thing but deeply engaging with it is another. Time spent with someone, or something, is now recognized as being more indicative of loyalty, satisfaction and interest. Metrics like duration of visit, page views, bounce rate and time spent per page are now seen as crucial ways to measure whether someone is truly engaged in your content.

The ministry has multiple web sites that are created for people at different stages of life and faith. We not only want to draw people in to spending more time with our content but then get them to take the next step of engaging in live conversation.

We have conversations with many seekers that lament how they have wasted their lives and lost time. They admit using it unwisely and desperately want to get it back. Some even come praying to go back in time to live life all over again. We want to encourage you to take a step back and consider how you are using your time and then consider how you can use it with even greater value for the kingdom.
