30 Years – Not Just Doing Ministry But Multiplying the Mission
In 1996, when the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Moody Broadcasting joined forces to help create Need Him Ministries, they modeled something countercultural in putting collaboration over competition. These faithful organizations understood that kingdom impact matters more than organizational credit. That founding DNA has shaped everything Need Him Global does.
For the first decade, several ministries helped create content and donated airtime to generate conversations. In addition, we were focused on training Responders, launching our own platforms, and sharing Jesus. The work was good, and God blessed it, but God was calling us ultimately towards multiplication.
The shift began when smaller ministries started asking questions: “How do you handle the volume of responses?” “What training do your Responders receive?” “Could we learn from your systems?” We faced a clear choice. We could guard our methods as proprietary advantages or open our hands and share what we’d learned. We chose generosity.
The development of our Echo Response system became the real turning point. Rather than building it exclusively for our use, we designed it to be shared. This wasn’t just software but a philosophy. We would become a resource multiplier, equipping other ministries to have the same quality conversations we were privileged to facilitate but with audiences we were not reaching.
Today, over 100 ministries around the world use our systems, training, and resources. Some focus on specific demographics like people groups, countries, or unique language groups. Each brings unique cultural insights and specialized passion to their audiences. Together, we form a network that reaches far beyond what any single organization could accomplish.
The numbers reflect this multiplication effect. Last quarter, our collaborative network engaged over 2 million people from more than 200 countries. That’s over 1,000 gospel-centered conversations every single hour!
But more important than the numbers are the individuals behind them. People hearing the Gospel for the first time, those carrying false beliefs about Scripture, those wounded by the church, and those who have chosen to follow Jesus over family and personal safety.
This model requires patience and humility. We don’t manage every conversation, control every message, or brand every encounter. But we receive something far better: the joy of watching the Gospel advance through ministries that know their communities better than we ever could.
The founding vision of 1996 proved prophetic. God’s kingdom grows far faster when established ministries set aside ego for mission, when collaboration trumps competition, and when resources are shared for His glory.
